STEVENS COUNTY CAT CARE is in need of several barn homes for cats that have little or
no desire to be lap kitties.  These cats are all spayed/neutered.  All we ask for in the
adoption of these cats is a good will promise that you keep them in a secure area for at
least 2 weeks and provide food, water and shelter year round.  The 2 week confinement
is for the cats to become comfortable with their new surroundings.  If you have no
confinement area, we will lend out kennels for the 2 weeks.  The benefit of having
spayed/neutered cats on your property may actually help keep other stray cats from
coming around.  Plus they are good at making rodents disappear! Give us a call at 509-
935-MEOW (6369).  Please have your cats spayed or neutered!  Stevens County Cat Care
provides low cost spays and neuters to low income households.

Drawing God
     A kindergarten teacher was
observing her classroom of
children while they drew.  She
would occasionally walk around
to see child’s artwork.  As she
got to one little girl who was
working diligently, she asked
what the drawing was.
     The girl replied, “I’m drawing
God.”
     The teach paused and said,
“but no one knows what God
looks like.”
     Without missing a beat, or
looking up from her drawing, the
girl replied, “They will in a
minute.”

“Heart Surgeon”
     A mechanic was removing a
cylinder head from the motor of
a Harley, when he spotted a
world-famous heart surgeon in
his shop.  The heart surgeon
was waiting for the service
manager to come take a look at
his bike.  The mechanic shouted
across the garage, “Hey Doc, do
you mind if I ask you a
question?”
     The famous surgeon, a bit
surprised, walked over to the
mechanic working on the
motorcycle.
     The mechanic straightened
up, wiped his hands on a rag
and asked, “So Doc, look at this
engine.  I also can open it up,
take valves out, fix them, and
put in new parts and when I
finish this will work just like a new
one.  So how come I get a
pittance and you get the really
big money; when you and I are
doing basically the same work?”
     The surgeon paused, smiled
and leaned over, and whispered
to the mechanic, “Try doing the
job while the motor is running!”
“For the first time ever, the
national average price for
a gallon of gas is over $4
... which explains the new
nickname for gas —
‘Starbucks for your car.’”
